When yet another U.S. factory closed and left the country in 2016, a family rallied to bring production back home. AFX Manufacturing was conceived by Shaun Richerson, machinist and former Andreae Filter Production Manager who in 1996 opened the U.S. factory. “After I left the company in 2015, I saw a developing opportunity and committed to bring the production of accordion filters back home to America.”

In just over a year, Shaun built a sleek, more efficient machine capable of producing beautifully made accordion filters at speeds never achieved before. Then, he enlisted the help of his former crew and colleagues. Boyd Richerson (General Manager of 17 years) took his seat on the Board of Directors as Market & Technical Advisor while sister, Kristy Richerson (Marketing Manager of 8 years), put her talents toward branding, sales and administration. Together again, the crew at AFX endeavors to build a better baffle for liquid finishing.

AFX Manufacturing is one of only six manufacturers in the world that produce accordion-style paint arrestors and is proud to be the first and only American owned and operated accordion filter production line. The Accordion paint baffle is now available worldwide.
